Immerse yourself in the historical footsteps of the Saigon Special Forces. Witness the National Heritage Sites of the Secret Weapon Tunnels of the Saigon Special Forces, stretching beneath two houses and by 1967, filled with over 2 tons of weapons such as guns, explosives, grenades, and ammunition that were used to attack the Independence Palace and some of the key centers of the Saigon government. Moreover, this is also the first privately-owned Intelligent Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, which preserves over 100 artifacts of the soldiers.
Afterward, head over to Independence Palace, also known as Reunification Palace, which was built on the location of the former Norodom Palace. Independence Palace served as the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the Vietnam War's conclusion in April 1975. It is a historical and political symbol of the country's struggle for independence and reunification.
After the fascinating cycle ride, stop by the Notre Dame Cathedral, which is regarded as the most picturesque spot in the city. Notre Dame Cathedral has survived for almost 140 years, through numerous political and historical changes, and it continues to stand there, defying the passage of time.
Thereafter, take a stroll across "Paris Commune Plaza" to the Central Post Office to see the distinctive, more than 100-year-old French building. It was constructed by renowned architect Gustave Eiffel in the late 19th century, during the time of French colonialism. With its green roofs, arched windows, and Gothic architectural design, the structure is a superb illustration of the Gothic architectural style.
Then skirt the sidewalk of Bach Dang Wharf Park along the banks of the Saigon River, which offers a picturesque retreat from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City. With sweeping views of the water and a vibrant cityscape, Bach Dang Wharf Park is a hidden gem that captivates both locals and tourists alike. Whether you're in search of a peaceful stroll, a relaxing picnic, or a place to unwind and soak up the fresh air, this public park is the ideal destination. And with its frequent cultural and recreational events, Bach Dang Wharf Park is not just a place to escape the city but also a hub for excitement and entertainment.
Finally, stroll along the small road nestled amidst the bustling high-rises in the heart of Saigon, it once witnessed the city's transformations day by day. It's truly different from present-day Saigon, not only because of its inherited character through generations but also because of the "uniqueness" of its small merchants. The first impression upon arrival is the peaceful and friendly atmosphere of the small vendors. As you visit each stall, you can watch the goods, ask for prices, and not feel obligated to make a purchase.
At the end of the tour, drop off at the hotels.
