Exploring Champa Heritage - My Son Sanctuary
  • Pick-up from hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang 
  • Departure for My Son Sanctuary, located about 45 km (28 miles) southwest of Hoi An.
  • My Son Sanctuary is a complex of abandoned Hindu temples located in the Quang Nam province of Central Vietnam. The temples were built by the Champa civilization, which was active in the area from the 4th to the 14th centuries AD. The complex is situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and jungle, and includes over 70 structures, including temples, towers, and tombs. 
  • Upon arrival, explore the ancient Hindu temples and ruins of the Champa civilization, which date back to the 4th century AD. 
  • Enjoy a guided tour of the site, learning about the history and significance of the various structures and carvings.  
  • The temples at My Son were built without the use of mortar, using a combination of bricks and stone. They were constructed using a combination of Hindu and indigenous architectural styles, and feature intricate carvings and sculptures depicting scenes from Hindu mythology.
  • Despite the passage of time and the damage caused by war, the temples at My Son are still remarkably well-preserved and have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Visitors are not allowed to touch or climb on the temples, in order to help preserve the site for future generations. 
  • Don't forget to bring your camera! The temples at My Son are incredibly photogenic and offer plenty of opportunities for beautiful shots.
