Binh Thanh Ancient Tower

The first place that I choose in my trip to discover Tay Ninh is the ancient tower of Binh Thanh. This relic is located in Binh Phu hamlet, Binh Thanh commune, Trang Bang district, Tay Ninh province. The ancient tower is located on the right bank of  Vam Co Dong river, close to the border with Cambodia.

The ancient tower of Binh Thanh is a typical representative of the Oc Eo culture that has survived to this day. The tower is located on high ground, nestled under green trees and surrounded by immense rice fields, creating a wild, lyrical, equally mysterious and pure scene.

Moc Bai border gate

Moc Bai border gate is about 10km from Binh Thanh ancient tower. This is the largest road border gate in the southern region on the land border between Vietnam and Cambodia. The border gate not only plays an important role in trade and trade with your country, but also an attractive tourist destination not to be missed.

Go Ken Temple

After visiting Binh Thanh tower and Moc Bai international border gate, move to city center. On the way, stop at a famous spiritual place near city, which is Go Ken pagoda (Tien Lam ancient pagoda). From Go Ken Pagoda, it is nearly 10km from Tay Ninh city.

The reason why this pagoda is called Go Ken is because the land on which the pagoda was built in the past was quite high, surrounded by a lot of cocoons. Cocoons are a family of vines, ripe red fruit, sweet and sour taste that is not available everywhere. That name still exists to this day, although there are no trees around the temple.

This place was built and completed in 1947 and was inaugurated on the occasion of the Great Day of Via Duc Chi Ton on the 9th day of the first month of the Year of the Goat (February 1, 1955).

Ba Den Mountain

Ba Den Mountain is located in the northeast of Tay Ninh city, 11km from the center, in the territory of Thanh Tan commune. Ba Mountain area has a total area of about 24km2 and is made up of 3 small mountains, namely Heo mountain, Phung mountain and Ba Den mountain.

With an altitude of 986m, the highest in the South, Ba Den Mountain is nicknamed “Roof of the Southeast”. This place is famous for its sacred pagoda system, attracting visitors from all over the world to visit such as Trung Pagoda, Ba Pagoda and Hang Pagoda.

Not only that, Ba Den mountain also owns a rich ecosystem and beautiful scenery. That is why for a long time, this place has been chosen by many backpackers for trekking and conquering nature.

Kvan love palm tree

If you are at “Ba Den Mountain Resort”, then you move to the back gate of the resort, follow the trail for about 4km, meet the road “Khedol – Suoi Da”, then turn left, follow this road and look into the direction. Looking to the left, you will see two palm trees of love standing in the middle of the field.

According to research, the Kvan people’s love palm tree consists of two palm trees, one high and one low. Two tree trunks twisted together like a couple in love, inseparable. However, during the heavy rain, one of the two palm trees fell, leaving only one tree in the middle of the field. After that, relatives in Khedol and the owner of the field (the field has two palm trees) together rebuilt the palm tree.

What to eat in Tay Ninh?

In the city center, you can visit the busiest night market in Tay Ninh, located right next to the Tay Ninh canal on Yet Kieu Street, Ward 1. Night market is the busiest and most crowded shopping, dining and entertainment area at night. The market is open from the afternoon until 12 pm (some days until 1-2 am).
